Product Care
When taken care of correctly, L&M Home’s luxurious cotton towels will stay beautifully soft and fresh for years to come. Here are our key care tips to ensure the longevity of your new cotton towels.
If you are in doubt, please do email info@lmhome.com.au and we are happy to advise!
Wash separately before first use. For best results, we recommend a 40-degree gentle machine wash for your L&M Home towels. We also recommend the occasional deep clean of your towels on a warm cycle to remove any bacteria and oils. When doing a towel load of washing, try not to overcrowd the machine so they have plenty of water around them to soak and wash. Avoid dry cleaning.
Line drying your towels in the shade is ideal and it reduces electricity usage. Tumble drying your towels for a few minutes when they are almost dry off the line will maximise their softness but it's not essential. For tumble drying, dry your towels on a medium to warm setting and ensure they are completely dry before storing them in your linen cupboard.
To protect the fibres of your towels, we recommend using a gentle eucalyptus-based washing detergent for superior colour retention, so they look beautiful for longer. For white towels, optical brighteners are fine to use; but avoid using them on your coloured washes. Attend to stains immediately as they occur using an oxygen-based stain remover. This will result in more effective removal. Avoid using silicone-based fabric softeners and conditioners. These will repel water and will reduce the absorbency of your fluffy towels. Never use bleach to clean your towels and make sure bathroom cleaning products containing bleach are kept separately from your towels to avoid any bleach stains.
We recommend that you wash your towels before first use. This will generally wash out any loose fibres. However, if you are still experiencing some shedding after the first wash we recommend the below steps.
Taking care of your hand block printed table linen
As part of our sustainable production ethos, we want to give you the best care tips for increasing the longevity of your hand block printed table linen.

Wash Separately
Please note that whilst reasonable care is taken during the manufacturing process, some of the dyes used may initially leave a subtle odour. Wash separately before first use. We recommend a very gentle, short machine wash in cold water. Use a gentle, short spin (no more than 800rpm). Ensure you take product out of washing machine as soon as cycle has finished. Do not dry clean, soak, or bleach.
Drying
Line drying this product in the shade is best for its longevity. Do not wring or tumble dry. Dry flat away from strong, direct sunlight.
Sunlight
The stability and permanence of dyes cannot be guaranteed, and all block printed fabrics are affected by direct light and will fade and change colour over time due to the nature of the natural dyes used. Direct sunlight will cause colour to fade.
Detergent
Use mild, chemical-free detergent, taking care not to use one with bleach or ‘Optical Brightening Agents’ as this may cause discolouring. Do not use detergent that contains enzymes, fabric softeners, or that is formulated for wool.
Ironing
Iron on medium/warm setting on reverse.
Taking care of your French flax table linen

If you are in doubt, please do email info@lmhome.com.au and we are happy to advise!
Wash Separately
Wash separately before first use. We recommend a gentle machine wash at 40 degrees Celsius. Please refrain from overloading the washing machine so that the fabric can wash and rinse well. Do not dry clean or bleach.
Drying
Line drying this product in the shade is best for its longevity, but if tumble drying be sure to use a low/medium heat setting. Tumble drying briefly before hanging can give a softer touch, and please note that linen dries faster than cotton.
Sunlight
Direct sunlight will cause colour to fade. Line drying in the shade is recommended.
Detergent
Use mild, chemical-free detergent, taking care not to use one with bleach or ‘Optical Brightening Agents’ as this may cause discolouration and weakening of the fabric. Do not use detergent that contains enzymes, fabric softeners, or that is formulated for wool.
Ironing
If necessary, we recommend ironing while the fabric is still damp. Use a medium-warm iron on the steam setting. White linen is better ironed on both sides, whilst dark linen should be pressed only on the reverse side.
How do I store my linen?
Store your linens in a cool, dry place; avoid plastic bags, cardboard boxes, or in direct contact with cedar chests or wood drawers. Fumes from petroleum-based, polyurethane plastic boxes and wood acids can yellow or weaken the fabrics.

Taking care of your bed linen
As part of our sustainable production ethos, we want to give you the best care tips for increasing the longevity of your bed linen.
If you are in doubt, please do email info@lmhome.com.au and we are happy to advise!
Wash Separately
Wash your bedding separately from your other laundry. We recommend a gentle 40-degree cycle, but you can wash up to 60. Please refrain from overloading the washing machine so that the fabric can wash and rinse well. Do not dry clean or bleach.
Drying
Line drying this product in the shade is best for its longevity, but if tumble drying be sure to use a low heat setting. Be careful not to over-dry as excessive heat can damage the threads, causing them to lose their softness and reducing their lifespan.
Sunlight
Direct sunlight will cause colour to fade. Line drying in the shade is recommended.
Detergent
Use mild, chemical-free detergent, taking care not to use one with bleach or ‘Optical Brightening Agents’ as this may cause discolouration and weakening of the fabric. Do not use detergent that contains enzymes or that is formulated for wool.
Ironing
To make ironing as easy as possible, we recommend removing from the dryer whilst slightly damp, and ironing on the medium/warm setting straight away. You can iron or steam to remove wrinkles, or just let your bedding be.
