1. Opulent Textures
Velvet, woven or wool: when creating a relaxing space you want to sink into, more is more. A simple sofa suddenly becomes much more inviting with a cashmere throw and tactile cushions. Whether you're looking to ground a space, add warmth, or create a focal point, the right cushion combination can be the perfect vehicle for adding personality to lift the room without introducing visual clutter. Creative Director Danielle Bowers says, "By integrating simple yet impactful decorating concepts, you can transform your living space into a serene sanctuary where you can unwind, recharge and discover tranquillity amid life's chaos."
2. Mood Lighting
Lighting can completely transform a room’s function and atmosphere. Create zones of light to build an overall sense of comfort and cosiness in your living space. Mix the scented glow of candlelight with smaller lamps and consider how beautifully they’ll work together as natural light fades. “A retreat at the end of busy days and a sanctuary on slow Sunday mornings, our homes are places of solace and comfort. And as the cooler months set in, they become a cosy haven for hunkering down,” says Danielle Bowers, Creative Director.
3. Tonal Warmth
If the year-round foundation of your room is a palette of soft neutrals, adding shades that carry warm tones will transition the room for the cooler months. A rich array of light or deep timber, tonal upholstery, and a handful of high-contrast accessories can leave a modern impression on a pared-back palette. Danielle advises, "Strike a balance between complexity and simplicity by blending colour, texture and pattern with moderation. Opt for calming, nature-inspired tones and motifs to cultivate serenity, avoiding overly vibrant colours and busy patterns."
